Architecture and Design Scotland
Architecture and Design Scotland (A+DS) is Scotland’s champion for excellence in placemaking, architecture and planning. A+DS aims to support the creation of places that work, which provide people with real choices and, are ultimately, places where people want to be.
A+DS works through our Access to Architecture programme to promote the capacity of architecture and design to inform, inspire, influence and challenge.
Creative learning is at the heart of the Access to Architecture Education workshop programme. We offer opportunities for people of all ages, in schools and communities, to engage with the built environment in a variety of ways using techniques from sport, dance, music, theatre and design to inspire creative and personal responses. Workshops are inspired by exhibitions in the Lighthouse where many of the creative outcomes are displayed.
