Museums Galleries Scotland

Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS) is a membership organisation for more than 340 museums and galleries throughout Scotland. We support the education sector to access the creative learning opportunities available from museums and galleries.

The collections of Scotland’s museums and galleries are a vital resource for education. They open up the past and enable young people to develop a confident sense of their place in the world. Working with real objects sparks the imagination of children and teachers alike, inspiring an enthusiasm for learning.

MGS acts as the representative of the museums sector. This involves speaking on behalf of the sector and demonstrating how museums and galleries contribute to modern society.
