Traverse Theatre

The Traverse is a hub that celebrates everyone’s creativity. We run an extensive year-round engagement programme, offering people of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to explore, create and develop their skills.

Our new projects and opportunities for 2022 includes the launch of the Breakthrough Writers programme, supporting new creative voices with little or no writing experience through a series of mentoring and dramaturgical sessions; Creating Space Writers’ Group, a safe and supported environment for Black, Asian and Ethnically Diverse early- and mid-career writers; and the return of the popular First Stages Festival.

Championing creative writing for all and working alongside these new initiatives, our popular programme Traverse Young Writers will continue to run in Spring and Autumn 2022, and Class Act will continue its 30th year of creative engagement activity, with a range of special events planned.
